Mastermind March

Academic: A mastermind is always two steps ahead, plotting their next moves before their opponent has even read the rules of the game. It is believed that criminal masterminds are the most dangerous of all. Their elaborate schemes and back-up plans have helped them evade countless law authorities for years on end. Research a criminal mastermind, either real or fictional, and their most famous crime. What were they trying to accomplish, and were they successful? Who was the person or detective overseeing their case? What were the lasting effects of their actions? (minimum one page)

Creative: While some criminal masterminds prefer to work solo, others acquire the help of an accomplice. In a similar way, a detective often leans on their partner for a different perspective that might lead them to capture a criminal. Using your imagination, write a story where two detectives must track down a criminal mastermind with the help of a supernatural power. This could be in the form of invisibility, mind-reading, and more. Make sure to include a beginning, climax, turning point, and resolution.

Artistic: Fortunately, many criminal masterminds are works of fiction. Create a short comic strip, either physically or digitally, illustrating a day in the life of a criminal mastermind and his/her accomplice. Make sure to include some dialogue and a setting as well as color throughout!

College bound: College is a major transitional point for many students. It is a time of independence, growth, and especially self-discovery. During this time, many students may decide to study abroad to learn more about the subject they are passionate about. Studying abroad provides many benefits such as access to new resources and the opportunity to experience culture in a different country. However, there are significant factors that prevent students from studying abroad. Research these different factors along with the advantages of studying abroad. Present your findings in a one-page essay.

Research how fidelity to academic honesty affects students, educators, and their communities. Provide personal examples or case studies to demonstrate the consequences of upholding or violating academic integrity. It should be a minimum of one page with a clear thesis, supporting evidence, and a broader understanding of academic fidelity.

Creative: Imagine yourself as a captain of a ship that is on a dangerous journey. Your crew’s fidelity to their duties and to each other is what is keeping the ship afloat in the middle of the sea. However, one of your members reveals a dilemma that could either lead the ship to destruction or save it. Describe the scenario in detail about the moral implications and practical considerations you will have to make as the captain. How do you decide on your next course of action and how will you ensure the fidelity between your crew members during these tough times? Narrate the outcomes of your decision and their impact on your journey in a short story.

Artistic: Create a piece of art that embodies your interpretation of fidelity. Consider how it relates to relationships, values, or views. This piece could be created through drawing, painting, digital art, or mix media to convey the intention of fidelity. Alongside should be a title and a brief description of your artwork.

College-bound: Similar to schools K-12, colleges and universities emphasize the importance of fidelity to their education and community values. Write a personal statement of a time when your commitment to fidelity was challenged. Creative: Imagine you are a lawyer fighting for a client who is accused of littering. There were no security cameras, but there were three witnesses.
